I'm not so comfortable posting links to 3rd party sites, but heres what it says:
To disable other peoples' chatter:
- Right click speaker icon in system tray.
- Select Playback Devices.
- Select a Playback Device other than what you use for sound output.
- Right click it and select Set as Default Communications Device.
- Hit OK.
- Left click on the speaker icon in the system tray.
- Click the icon below the slider on the device you chose to mute it.
To disable your own mic within the game but use a 3rd party voice application:
- Right click speaker icon in system tray.
- Select Recording Devices.
- Select a Recording Device other than your mic (maybe Stereo Mix?).
- Right click it and select Set as Default Communications Device.
- Right click it and select Properties.
- Select the Levels Tab at the top.
- Click the icon next to the slider to mute it.
- Click OK.
- Go into the settings of your 3rd party app and set the input device to your mic.
The suggestion on the first page regarding muting other/yourself while using 3rd party voice app does not work when you use Logitech G930/35 or other USB sound devices.
- This game needs an option too mute oneself and/or a push to talk option.
- And the mute all button should mute all players in the lobby and not only those that a currently in the lobby.
Those who join later are not muted.

Same problem, doesn't work with usb mic.
I just hope parents get upset and complain when my private and non child friendly conversations are broadcast in game. I know if my son was playing/listening I'd be very upset, but the way I look at it is EA are 100% to blame for children listening to my private skype conversations.

I was able to do the suggested method though I have USB sound. Now it's really a pleasure to play.
For using an other audioinput I had to install a programm that let me play music in games. 😕mileyfrustrated:
For the input I chose some hdmi audio.
Maybe check if deactivated devices are invisible (rightclick in the device selection)
But I'm not sure whether you can use them as alternative playback source or not.
