my characters from pvz 1 did not import to pvz 2

my characters from pvz 1 did not transfer to pvz 2... i recieved the stickers for my rank but my characters did not load. how do i import my characters?

    Hey @l4d1e

    If you go to your mailbox and scroll right there will be an option to import characters. Just choose that option and it should start the process as long as you're using the same EA account as you used on GW1.

When i try to import my characters from garden warfare the prompt doesn't show up, which is a shame because i unlocked almost every character.

My gamertag on Xbox is: MadManRegret

There are others as well with a similar issue as this.
