My game won't launch from Steam, and is not seen as installed

My game (Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2) will not boot up. I have it installed on both Steam and Origin, however, when I try to launch the game on either platform it says "The game does not appear to be installed. Please install or try relaunching the game". When I click on the game, the button says install. So I click on install, and then it will begin to download, and then it will pop back to having a big install button. So I can't install it (most likely because it is already installed). Furthermore, I cannot delete and reinstall the game as it does not see the game as installed, even though it clearly is installed on my hard drive. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Origin, yet the problem persists. I have deleted the game directly from my hard drive, then reinstalled it, yet the problem persists. The option to "Locate game" is greyed out and I cannot click on it. I have tried the advice on the website of clicking "help < App recovery", however, the option for "App Recovery" is not there for me. I found this option instead and hoped you could help me?
