@mikepal19 I unlocked it. It is strong 1 on 1. In turf takeover, plants avoid clustering and work as a team to defeat me. For people who don't know how to deal with it, here is my experience. Use peashooter and cactus from afar, sunflower with shove upgrade is really useful. Chomper with grody goop is dangerous. Hope that helps... At least you will force scientist not be that aggressive.
@JusticeHeroX I used sunflower with vampire flower, quick egress and pocket protection. I had decent success with just trying to out maneuver him. These battles are extremely drawn out and usually are decided by who ever has more teammates next to them. The thing about sb scientist, as of now, people are really aggressive dont really travel in pacts because they think they can just destroy anyone they find (which is true for the most part). But thanks for your advice, I'll surely try shove. I think that might be a really good counter.
Ive also been trying to use chomper with goop but i havent ran into a good sb scientist for me to try it on.
@mikepal19If u think about it, this may not be op at all, it can mostly depend on the person using it and their skill cap. I’ve outbeaten many ppl using this upgrade simply by staying mobile and making unpredictable movements. While I do agree the damage and width may be a little outrageous, remember this upgrade usually wins in 1v1 situations and does not do as well on turf because people remain in clusters. In conclusion, this upgrade is only meant for those willing to play risky and aggressively, and it completely reworks scientist into an assault-like character. I can also say this upgrade matches up scientist more to sunflower’s level now, I mean she does so much damage and has 3 heal charges which I feel should be only 2. (It is unbelievably annoying trying to kill a retreating sunflower). Scientists goo blaster in the past was never that good tbh, I think it was an extreme downgrade compared to the previous games. The steam blaster actually made scientist into a playable character now 😀
- @Stringer2048 The steam blaster doing good damage at least feels great. The problem really boils down to Scientist's poor class design. They gave him 3 instant Warps with no way to justify it until they nerfed his damage to the current mediocre Goo blaster. Even then it's not justifiable because it is super easy to escape death, even when playing aggressively.
- @Pheesley I agree I also pointed out that it can be similar in sunflowers case with the 3 healing charges as she runs away
