Here's my take on how the healers could be changed: 🙂
For sunflowers, reducing the amount of damage or healing that she provides might help, but don't reduce both.
For scientists, perhaps reduce his damage but increase his healing so that he becomes less of an offensive character and more of a support!

What I would really be interested in is whether or not the strong Sunflowers people come across are using upgrade combinations that were allowed before the upgrade cost increase to Blossom . . . there hasn't been any change that I'm aware of forcing players to reselect their upgrade combinations.

@ToastedSarnie that could very well be. When I logged in and was using 8 or 9 of 7 after that patch, I went and changed it to be 7 to avoid any issues.
I don't have the actual data on performance and I've seen a lot of people call Sunflower's healing too strong but I'm loathe to nerf a healer that is already a priority target that isn't properly rewarded in the first place (healing and revives need more XP!). She's easy to head shot (she's like 50% head) so takes a lot of critical damage, she has no real escape ability, one of her abilities roots her in place, and usually to heal she has to remain close enough to take AoE and arcing damage. This all makes her pretty easy to take down and the fact that she can survive this attention at times seems like it's supposed to be one of her advantages.
This is one of those times where I wish we had direct, long term, discussions with the devs. How do they feel she's performing? What is some of their design philosophy in regards to how things are now? What about hardened, an Acorn upgrade that really gets people angry? I could spend hours sitting with the dev team and discussing such things.
- 6 years ago@Iron_Guard8 Yes, I'd be very interested in knowing a lot more detail as well.
@mikepal19 😂🤣 For the record, I reselected my upgrades after the cost increase to fall in line & I die a lot more in PvP these days!! (I don't blame anyone for having not changed, though!)

@ToastedSarnieI still have broken loadouts for Sunflower, but i dont use them. I use a loadout with Protection, Speedy, and Super Savior and I still Heal really well with Sunflower.
I have plenty of experience against Sunflower and fighting heal beam is like fighting a bullet sponge. It's so easy to switch between plants and the Heal rate is so high. Doesnt help when Sunflower can attack while healing, plus her plant friend that she's healing. I dont have a problem with this, just her Healing output.- 6 years ago
If Popcap just added Fall-off, we could be having a whole different discussion about healing. I think because you can Snipe with any class, and zombies have a lot of good classes for sniping, it make Sunflower's healing feel justified. With Fall-off added, I doubt her current healing would be balanced.
So many balance discussions get confusing because this game is unfinished gameplay elements dont mix together well and it lacks universal shooting mechanics like Fall-off. Fall-off damage would make Healing and balancing in general so much easier...
For instance, All-star didnt need a damage nerf, he needed Fall-off, but they nerfed him down to 8 damage.
