Before the update, if you we're in a friends garden, you we're unable to kill them if they we're accessing the multiplayer portal.
Since the update, you are able to kill them when they are at the mushroom setting up a game. Once you've killed them, neither you or your friend is able to access the multiplayer portal. You'll both receive the message that the portal is inaccessible as another player is using it.

Community AdminThank you for the post. Can I check were you able to use the portal again after a while, or did you need to restart/create a new session entirely?
We tried four times to no avail and then ended up loading into a session of garden ops. Once we'd finished garden ops, the multiplayer portal had reset
BTW. We just tried to replicate this twice, and we we're unable to do it! Maybe a server hiccup, rather than a bug?

Sometimes stuff like this requires absurdly specific confluence of events and you got (un)lucky the first time, or perhaps it was a temporary server glitch.
