Defences include: periodically respawing potted plants, trapped areas, locked doors requiring Z4 placement or the use of a gnome bomb, AI plants such as lurking chompers and cacti on a ridge.
As this would probably require new maps, It would have to be a few months to make this. but it would be nice.
