As reported in the 'News' section of the game, a bunch of changes have been made to existing cards. And the two new heroes are here!
It also says that Season 2 is over and Season 3 has started. But that doesn't actually seem to be the case.
I don't see an option yet to buy the new heroes - with gems or real money.
Beta-Carrotina is apparently available in the Beta-Carrotina packs (150 a pack/11 packs for 1500). She's a chance drop, not a guaranteed drop.

And there’s not a chance that I will spend 1,500 gems on a single hero.
How do you guys usually buy heroes? (Ihad them all before the world-wide release, so I’ve never seen the option to buy them).
^ same but I believe you were able to pay 750 gems for a pack with a guaranteed hero in it. I guess I will have to wait for that one, as I haven't received the new hero yet and a random drop in a pack of garbage (I have most galactic cards already) doesn't seem worth it
Ya, bought my heroes for 750 gems each once I completed the basic quests. Bought a few packs early on it the hopes of getting one...then I woke up to reality that the drop rate wasn't worth the hope and anguish. :P

- The update dropped for me at around 11 P.M. I noticed that the packs go quicker, and that F2P players look even more screwed.
so. New Zombie conjours 3 enviroments. one of these creates teleports it contais a zombie on the start of turn. one freezes on play and grants strikethrough and the last one conjours a random enviroment and makes all cards in hand cheaper by 1. The last power is a 2/3 with bullseye which pumps to 1/1 in enviroments
I am pretty sure that guy is broken af.
Teleport enviroment keeps drawing cards while providing steady teleports, a 2/3 // 3/4 with bullseye and a discount on all cards plus an eniviroment conjour. The freezing is probably the weakest but still pretty good. Keep in mind that the two power-enviroments both cost only 1 ._. and have the potential to cost 0
To be fair Carrotina looks pretty good as well. Its very interesting to have 3 powers that provide plants for 1 so you can focus better on turns 3+. also conjouring 2 tricks is good *.
Beta-Carrotina packs = 11 packs for 1500 is a total fake . Just opened it today , as the result I got 4 super rare from galactic collection and 95 cards utilized as I had already 4 copies . Sure there was no new hero Beta-Carrotina inside. The unnecessary benefit was only 2255 sparks out of 95 cards. Haha.
So..more like 16 packs. On par with the cost of the 11 pack, so a chance at a Hero for that that many gems/packs isn't bad then.
