New taco party pack update won't download on xbox

My son continues to get a message stating that "the device is full" although he has plenty of memory....he's really wanting the new update and wants to play xbox live with friends but can't! I'm tryin...

    I dont believe he needs previous versions of Garden Warfare, only the most current one.

    Personally when I run out of space, I look through the list of games and find ones I haven't played in a fairly long time. I then delete the game content (DLC or any updates) but leave my save game profiles.

    Any digital content can be redownloaded from the account download history.

He has two versions of garden warfare v1.1 downloaded items both with same date but different times. Can he delete one of these? They're 213 MB each
