No 16-digit game code from Pop Cap purchase, Plants vs Zombies

I'm trying to restore a purchase from several years ago, before EA acquired Pop Cap Games. The email purchase from Pop Cap doesn't include a 16-digit code. Tech support directed me to the forums because they could not restore anything without this mythical 16-digit code. Anyone have tips or advice?

Hey BR4567890 , we won't be able to give you a code/product on the forums since we don't have any tools that can generate them (unlike the help support) but we can take a look. What purchase are you trying to restore?
