Origin play button shaded

Hello, i would like to address an issue about my pvz bfn play button being shaded and inactive. I played pvz bfn 2-3 times and then came back the next day.  when i click on pvz bfn in my origin game library, I saw that the button was now grayed out out of absolutely nowhere. i uninstalled and then reinstalled pvz bfn and origin around 4 times. I'm really confused about what to do, please help!

You should not have to clear the Cache every time you want to play.

Do you have issues once you close out, and try to launch the game again without clearing the Cache?

Once you've done it the first time, this issue shouldn't arise again.

@iluminatethesky, after a few minutes, the folders get created again and so every time they are back, the game freezes and I can’t play. I’ve even tried renaming my user’s folder. The answer to the second phrase you wrote is yes, when I close my computer and then open it again, the play button and most game options such as repair, update, etc. stops working. I somehow have “one try” to enter the game and I do but the screen stays black. I close it, and then I literally just can’t get in. I’ve also tried deleting anti cheat and put the game to run as administrator. And also something else is that after a lot of cache deleting, when I try to delete  the boxart cache file and the logs file, they won’t delete anymore. It seems I’m simply out of options ;(

Have you also tried going to the folder where you have BFN installed, open the EasyAntiCheat folder, double click on "EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe", and run the Repair Service on "Picnic"?

If it's not selected already, there should be a drop down box you can select "Picnic" from.

Make sure you're fully closed out of Origin when you do this, even in Task Manager.

Also, when you Uninstall/Reinstall Origin, try using the "Hard way" listed in these steps: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

Once that's done, try clearing cache again: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

    Thanks 🙂

@iluminatethesky, once i go into the setup, there is no "picnic", the only ones that i saw starting with the letter p were: post-scriptum and palladins and i tried changing my user's folder name but it only ended up in giving me a temporary account and it didn't change anything. ☹️((((

That's odd that "Picnic" wasn't on that list, considering you have the game installed with the EasyAntiCheat.

Did you try the links that I provided for you in that particular order?

    Thanks 🙂

Actually, I’m not so sure. I will try next weekend though but I have uninstalled Origin “the hard way”.

hi @iluminatethesky, i have uninstalled and reinstalled origin the hard way, i managed to open the game twice(after clearing cache) and yet my characters were all invisible!! After the third time of trying to open the game, even the anti-cheat didn't run. At this point, i don't know what to do ☹️
