Parrot vs Garlic Drone
Why is the parrot faster? Why does the parrot have a 20 second countdown on egg-splosion only once then it's ready to go right away when you have to wait 20 seconds each time you use garlic drone? ...

I thought this until playing a lot more Cactus recently. The mines make a big difference for defense and for getting free kills. Also some of the upgrades that generate mines are awesome.
All Deadbeard has is a barrel which today is a shadow of its former self. I also find Cactus better at short range with the basic attack.
However I do agree that the two drone special attack cooldowns are weirdly different.
I max ranked my characters in BA so I don’t think anyone will change my mind.
Potato mines are weaker and completely ineffective compared to mobile barrel blasts that can take out 4-5 Oaks at once. Scuttle Shot renders enemies defenseless as you can’t aim when being knocked back.
Parrot is far stronger than Garlic without considering cool downs, AoE plus massive damage = shoooweeeee.
I appreciate everyone’s perspective but I’m thoroughly convinced of my opinion (I mained Cactus until Alacrity nerf).
In plant vs zombies 1 cactus drone was far superior then the engineer drone then in plants vs zombies 2 when they broght out the pirate that when the zombie drone became superior. They need to bring the catus drone back to it original glory with the carpet bombing. The potato mine today is alot less effective then it was in pvz 1. Today potato mines are too big and obvious with blinking lights in pvz1 you could hide it alot better
I have to say I definitely prefer the parrot, especially as you can coop with a wizard. Seen a lot of people use them to help wizards into the plant 'safe' zone in giddy park too
Barrel Blast only hits for 150. For Cactus, in my opinion the best upgrades to use for her is Popcorn and Bon Voyage.
Unlike Captain Deadbeard, If Cactus has the Popcorn upgrade equipped, she has the ability to deny revives from vanquishing them at a long range if the player trying to revive doesn't see the potato mine and gets vanquished. The potato mine actually has a chance of being armed underneath the downed zombie, so they won't be able to see it and so they walk over to the zombie to revive, and next thing you know it...SPUDOW!
So with that upgrade equipped, she gets more rewarded when vanquishing zombies because on average (let's face it) their hitboxes are smaller, both head and body.
Bon Voyage is useful because if you're being rushed by a Super Brainz, you deploy a temporary potato mine beneath you, and while Super Brainz is focused on hitting ranged attacks at you, and not the ground, he will get vanquished if no overhealth is applied to him. Either way, he is taking massive damage from the explosion if he does have overhealth, so you can finish him off with your close-range attack.
