PC black screen on launch

When I launch PvZ GW2 from the Origin launcher, it takes me to a windowed black screen and stays there. DirectX and video card all up to date. Any suggestions?

You cannot expect a 2016 game to actually work with a three year old graphics driver!

           Driver Model: WDDM 1.1
      Driver Attributes: Final Retail
       Driver Date/Size: 3/29/2013 09:37:02, 1155264 bytes
            WHQL Logo'd: Yes

I'm having the same issue.  Here is my DsDiag.  Thanks for any help you can give!

That's odd, I (thought I) updated my driver this morning, something must have borked...  Thanks!

After reviewing the DxDiag file, I realized that the video drivers had reverted to an earlier version. Updated and no problems. Thanks.

It means you wasted your time trying to run this game on that.

         Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
                 Memory: 4096MB RAM
    ---------------
    Display Devices
    ---------------
Card name: Microsoft Basic Display Driver
           Manufacturer:
              Chip type:
               DAC type:
            Device Type: Display-Only Device
       Driver Date/Size: , 0 bytes
            WHQL Logo'd: n/a
        WHQL Date Stamp: n/a

You not only do not have the required video card, you do not even have any driver for that low end machine.

  • I'm honestly not too surprised. It's a laptop. Thanks for the input anyway.
