I have nothing connected, and no overlays. The game just wants me to stare at the floor for some reason.
Did you tried a different USB port for the mouse?
Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click PvZ BfN > Repair)
If that also don't helps preform a clean boot, shut down Afterburner and Rivatuner if you have it installed and test the Game in clean boot mode.
