Peashooter and Engineer dealing reduced damage

Product: Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville
Platform:Sony Playstation 4

In what game mode did the bug occur? Turf Takeover (PvP)
Summarize your bug Peashooter and Engineer will sometimes deal reduced damage from their primaries.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure. I do not think it is specific to upgrades that modify the primary weapons. It could be due to lag?
Which character were you playing when the bug occurred? Peashooter
What upgrades had you equipped with this character? Peashooter: Escape Roots, Bean Party, and Pro Spitter. Engineer: Turbo Charge, Rally the Troops, and Seismic.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)

It seems that splash damage is ignored when the damage is suddenly reduced. I recorded footage of this happening.

    @Pheesley  I don't seem to notice this problem with Engineer. With Peashooter, I have experienced the opposite. For some reason, I seem to deal noticeably increased damage instead of decreased damage. It does not happen often, but it is an occasional issue for me.

    @Pheesley the football player i believe it only does 20 hp because of the upgrade he has. Forgot the name of the ability but it allows to receive reduced damage after a critical vanquish, stacks 3 times.

    @Meerkats_Wrath also the chomper has the same ability, i’m sorry but this isn’t a glitch. both of these characters can equip this unique ability, i’m surprised no one uses it, i cant play it without it.

    @Meerkats_Wrath its called Best defense. Even if the all-star was running best defense, it doesnt reduce 32 damage to 20.

    I also did the same amount of damage to the Foot soldier in the previous clip. 20 damage on direct hit, and splash damage was completely ignored when it should have hit. Like when I shot at the wall right next to the foot soldier.

    Chomper also does not have any upgrades that reduce incoming damage.

    Hit registration is an issue for peashooter and Engineer.

    This is probably splash damage and splash damage does less damage. I think im not sure if im doing something wrong.
