Make sure there isn't any restrictions applied to the account.
Like console games, you can enable or disable in-game purchases on EA mobile games from your mobile device. Your Android, Apple iOS, or Windows Phone mobile device allows you to restrict any in-app purchases, as well as other account features, through a quick adjustment of settings.
Restrict in-app purchases for the following devices:
- iOS devices: Use restrictions to prevent purchasing on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Scroll to the bottom to find the section on managing your child’s account (if they have an account via the Apple ID for Students program) and setting up allowances with “Ask to Buy.”
- Android devices: To prevent and restrict purchases with Google Play for Android, set your device to require a password for any purchases.
- Window’s devices: Set up a Wallet PIN, and even create Kid’s Corners.

My son keeps getting this error message as well, have tried the following to no avail:
- Restarted the phone
- Turned off all restrictions
- Reinstalled the game
He does however use a "child" account provided by Apple with the Family-functions. In-app purchases works fine in all other apps and connecting to play against others works fine in the app.
We would appricate any guidance in this matter.
(Also, since this is an error stopping us from buying in-game content and therefor by extension generating income for you it must surely be in your interest as well :D)

I wasn't 100% sure of how Family Sharing works so I looked up on Apple's help center and there's a feature called Ask to buy:
If you use Family Sharing, you can let your child initiate purchases with Ask to Buy.
The iTunes Service is only available for individuals aged 13 years or older or children under 13 who have received an Apple ID through the Apple ID for Students program. If your child is under the age of 13 and isn't an educational Apple ID holder, Apple must close and delete all information associated with their account.
Is it the feature you have enabled?
- 5 years ago@EA_Zoe I have that feature enabled and I tried to make a 10 dollar purchase of gems, it did not work and when I try to click the 10 dollar gem purchase again it says, Sorry something has gone wrong with you purchase, Please reload plants vs zombies heroes and we will try to recover things for you. I’ve tried restarting my game I’ve even deleted the game and reinstalled it, nothing works, if anyone has an idea on how to fix this let me know
