100% agreed. I'm also winning as both sides, and the game is ALOT more fun now. People just seem to pick the wrong plants to use against the zombies in play, have relied on Rose too much prior to patch, are playing for kills and not to win, or just plain suck.
Only thing that is even close to OP is electro brainz. The 15 splash damage does need toning down. That's all.
Just back from some turf takeovers with my friends.
Playing as zombie = easy mode.... no challenge at all
We'll stick to coop for a while, it's sad how you trash those poor plants
