Hello there. I've bought this for my children. I don't know much about the Xbox360. I now see it says I need a subscription (Xbox Live Gold) account. Is the game completely unplayable without that? I don't want to give it to them unless I know it's going to work! Thanks.
Yes, this title requires a Gold account on xbox360 as it is an online-only game.
Xbox One version of GW1 had an Offline-Splitscreen mode but the 360 did not.
The PC version is free for online (requires a decent gaming computer).
PS3 is free for online as the PS3 did not require PS+.
PS4 does require PS+ for GW1 but also includes the Offline Co-Op like Xbox1.
Garden Warfare 2 (the new game) requires PS+/XboxLive for most modes but can be played offline split-screen co-op without a sub.
GW2 on PC online is free (requires even better gaming computer).
GW2 was not released for 360 or ps3.
*edit* I believe I was wrong when I said "offline". It does still require an internet connection but a subscription is not needed for the modes I said "offline" in.
