I am sorry for my language right now already, but I am sick of trying to fix the game or my laptop. I've been sitting here for an hour trying to fix it but because of those damn unnecessary windows updates I am not able to change my username to one with just english letters and why in hell is that even a damn thing in a game while every single other game works perfectly fine, what is the problem??????????
- @yoyogemer976 reboot fixed it for me, FWIW (black screen, 100% of one core used)
- Here is the Solution :
Solution 1 :
a. Close origin properly.
b. start the game with admin permission ( If not work then close the game with task manager and again run with admin permission)
c. Do this until a white screen with popcap not shown. My issue is similar, Anti-cheat opens perfectly, the game opens in a windowed mode and sometimes runs good(intro, little in game trailer or whatever)until you click and it goes full screen, then it's just black, sometimes with a enlarged flickering mouse and sometimes with no sound. I have no idea on how to fix it. I've been searching and testing solutions for the past 2 days and nothing, tried uninstalling and re-installing over and over, ran it as administrator again and again, even tried opening origin as administrator and trying, I've also cleared me cache, tried repairing the game, changing the file locations for the game and uninstalling when it doesn't work. I've checked my GPU for updates as well as my graphics card and that's all fine and updated. I'm not entirely comfortable doing a clean boot or whatever it's called(i'm not tech savvy)and I don't want to end up damaging my PC somehow. I've left my DxDiag to this post if you'd want to check it out. Any help will be appreciated.
- Hit Windows key and X.
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key and X again.
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the PowerShell or CMD, enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes. >ENTER.
- Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.
- @LamarLD Thx really helped
This game is so low quality
Its 2025 and it still has this issue, did they even update it since release?
I used this method to change my username:
Use the netplwiz command to change the username for the profile
Use the "wmic useraccount get name,SID" command to find the correct SID for my account
Open up regedit, and go to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\<SID>
Edit the "ProfileImagePath" to the correct username
Go into the C:\Users and rename the folder to the correct name.
Run this command mklink /d "Full path of old profile folder name" "full path of new profile folder name"
