I recently bought plants vs zombies for my autistic sister. I saw on the case that it requires an xbox gold memership. Is there any gameplay without the memebrship? She doesn't need to play online against other people.
I just don't want to open the game, then find out she can't play it, becaue then I won't be able to return it.

You are able to play split-screen without an Xbox Live Gold account, but an active internet connection is required. Split-screen does get boring fairly fast, you're required to play with another person and you're only fighting wave after wave of zombies until failure. Unfortunately there is no solo play without an Xbox Live gold account.
That being said, it's no where near the full experience without Xbox Live Gold, but then again, this game's full experience is mostly playing online with and or against other people.
Note: Although, I love this game and recommend it to pretty much everyone; I do make a note as to not recommend it to those without or not interested in having Xbox Live Gold.
