Thanks for trying. Do you have the game installed on an internal or external hard drive?
All my games are on the internal default drive.
Hard drive is also almost 50% free, so a full hd is not an issue.

Do you have an external drive also by chance? It would be interesting to see if there's a difference. This is a pretty odd issue.

I don't own the dedicated HD expansion device. I do own external SSD's that I use on the older Xbox's. I never hooked up the latter to the Series X, as they say the games won't run from it. (would have to be moved to the internal to run)

Have you tried a factory reset on your console? If not, would be willing to try it?
I can see where that would be a test, but gosh, setting all that up again would be a major pita.

I haven't done this yet on a Series X, but it wasn't that bad on an Xbox One. I believe you can reset without having to lose a lot of settings or installed apps. Would you be able to give this a shot? It's a pretty odd issue and I'm running out of ideas here. You could also try contacting an advisor to see if they have any suggestions. If you want to do that, try contacting @EAHelp through Twitter or open a case with a live support advisor.
You can contact EA Help via the EA Help website. Detailed instructions on how to use the EA Help service can be found here. - 5 years ago
I would imagine that a reset would (at least temporarily) fix the problem, but without knowing why it happened the first time, it's very possible that two weeks from now it will be doing it again. This is the only game, out of the 25 I have installed, that is giving this problem.
Frankly, I don't want to do that reset. It says I can keep my installed apps & games, but I'd lose everything else. If it becomes more of an issue, then maybe I'll tackle it then. Atm, it's just an irritation.
Thanks for trying to fix this for me.

I haven't lost any data so far with doing factory resets. I have had to apply some settings again though. Regardless, if I hear of any other possible resolutions for this, I'll update this thread.

When was FPS boost added to this game? I ask this in this topic because I am wondering if the Series X software enhancements are causing this. I am experiencing the load time increase as well.

It's possible these are related. FPS boost was recently added. Can you try disabling it in the settings? This is turned on by default. Here are those steps:
- Navigate to My games & apps on your Xbox console.
- Move your cursor to an FPS boost-compatible game.
- Press the Menu button.
- Select Manage game and add-ons.
- Select the Compatibility options tile.
- Check/uncheck the FPS Boost box to enable/disable FPS Boost.
Let me know what happens. Thank you.

I am having the same issue as the others on this thread - worse load time on my Series X than on my old One S.. Xbox Series X, no external HD connected, and I don't have a 120Hz TV so the FPS boost option isn't selected or available.

Hi, everyone. I've raised this as an issue to our team here. When I have new information, I'll post an update. If anyone has anything new to add, please do so in this thread and I'll make sure it gets passed on. Thanks!
- 5 years ago@EA_Aljo Hello I am having the same issue on series X. This wasn't happening a few weeks ago when I last opened the game. I have tried reinstalling which does nothing. My TV is also not 120Hz.
The below describes what happens:
1) I load up game; title screen appears in normal colour for about 2 seconds
2) A black screen appears for at least 40-60 seconds; can be up to 2 minutes
2) The title screen then reappears but this time it is not the normal colour; the colours are washed out/low contrast.
3) After skipping the intro video which comes seconds later, the washed out title screen reappears and stays for about 3-4 mins before finally loading the game. The flower is moving/rotating in lower right hand screen during this time.
Not sure how significant the washed out colours are. Hope this helps the team! Sorry I can't say if this is definitely since FPS boost update; I've been away from the game for a while. Although PvZ BFN is working fine. Thanks! - 5 years ago
Except for the washed out colors, it's been the same here. Also, the time it takes to zone into a game mode is a lot longer, too. I'm still not quite ready to do a factory reset yet though. As long as I can play the game, I guess I'll deal with it.
The fact that the city hall (in the backyard) is closed for a long time (currently, 3 weeks) is a bigger aggravation. Blocking access to the bird in there keeps me away, because I cap out at 200 stars and can't convert them to rainbow stars until the building opens. I'm at the point in my GW2 career that I'm playing to try to get all the items in sticker packs, so not being able to do this kills my reason to play.
Also, thanks to EA_Aljo for your attention to the issues on a game that's not exactly a flagship game anymore.
It's much appreciated.
Okay! The city hall opened today, so headed there first thing and converted all my regular stars to rainbow stars. So now I head into the quest board stuff, starting with 4 out of 200 stars to get. Did all 10 of the star reward quests and did not notice til they were done that I wasn't credited with ANY rewards for all the star quests. Game owes me 30 regular stars that I'll never likely get.
All the things broken are really starting to make me not even want to play this game anymore.

Just jumping in on this, I got game pass and my Son wanted to try this game. A brand new Xbox series X and the load time on this games is shockingly bad!
We are in July now so looks like you gave up trying to fix this. Typical EA.
I believe this is a game bug, as it's happened to me several times.
Whenever the town hall opens and you sell a bunch of regular stars (for rainbow stars), you don't usually get credit for quest rewards immediately after. The only way I've been able to fix it, is to quit the game after trading your stars and before doing quests. Then you get the rewards as you should. I don't know how many star rewards I've lost due to this bug. Now that I've figured out how to reproduce it, I just make sure to relog into the game after selling.

Hi, I just noticed that the topic of the extremely long initial load time was supposed to be brought up with an internal team of some sort at EA, and I was just wondering if this problem was currently being addressed. Is there an update on this subject, now, several months later?
Judging by the release of the 120 FPS Xbox Series S & X update being released in April 2021, and the initial post in this thread being dated the same month, they are likely related.
I too, have attempted all the suggested ideas to resolve this issue within this thread.
I'd love to see this issue resolved.

I'm looking into this further. It could take some time though. I'm not sure exactly when I'll have a response, but will report back as soon as I do.
