Plants vs zombies heroes lost stars

Over the past 3 days, I have had at least 20 matches where I win, but then lose a star instead of gain one! Into of those, the other player disconnects just before I win. The game says I won, but the I lose a star! The last time this happened, I won without them disconnecting or conceding, but I still lost a star! Is this happening for anyone else?
