Plants VS Zombies original PC

I've been back and forth with EA customer service and they don't seem to understand what is going on with my game and told me to come here so maybe I can get some actual help.

I just bought a brand new computer and I added the EA app all games looked like they had transfered over just fine but not Plants VS Zombies. 

At first it looked like my save was intact and I went ahead and played but when I went to buy some spray for my plants it would give me an error message then shut down the game. I would go to Crazy Dave's TwiddyDinkies and try to buy something and when I clicked on yes to purchase the error would come up with "Failed to user write file." and the game would just close out. 
I attempted to delete the save and start a new one got pretty far into it to start over and thought it auto saved but when I came back the next day to put more time into it the game was not saved was no where in any files and the old save that I'd deleted had returned. 

I have uninstalled EA games and Plants VS. Zombies and reinstalled I still can't delete the old save and start a new one that successfully saves. 

so I don't know how to fix the problem and customer service told me to come here and ask since they didn't know what to do either. 

PLEASE HELP
