@CptOx There's no way of knowing in advance. Here's my previous take on the matter earlier in this thread:
@baseFS wrote:Interesting - and very bad approach to their customers.
Is there any reason to believe the 10$ deluxe upgrade DLC will behave any differently? After all the original deluxe pre-order was a bundle of the game and the deluxe upgrade DLC.
If the deluxe upgrade DLC is available to all accounts (main + sub) then the original purchase was a blatant ripoff. If it's still restricted to the main account then it's not an upgrade and is still a ripoff.
It's a bad treatment of their loyal users either way.
@baseFS Thanks. I finally buy the add-on inside my sons sub-accounts with mobile pay, and they now can enjoy the packs, but I feel that I pay twice for the same thing. If I had known earlier, I would have bought the regular edition and then the add-ons. Thank you again for highlighting the problem.

@CptOx You mention sub-accounts (plural) - did you buy the add-on multiple times or did you buy it once (using a sub-account) and it was enough for all sub-accounts?
I share your opinion that with prior knowledge I would have avoided the Deluxe pre-order and have opted for the Standard pre-order with the "upgrade" later. I can't help but wonder whether this omission was intentional or an oversight by EA. I previously brought up both options in this thread.
I find it very strange that we don't have any response (official or otherwise) from EA in this thread beyond the initial "solution", more so with this thread linked from the FAQ.

Today my daughter was asking where her deluxe imp was. I came across this thread and have to say how unimpressed I am with the way EA/Popcap have handled this.
Honestly, a sub-account is tied to the main account in such a way that there is really no potential for abuse. I agree that if I purchase a Deluxe Edition, all the accounts which list the installed PS4 as the primary PS4 should benefit from the Deluxe bonus items. Especially sub-accounts.
After reading through, and deciding that I needed to keep the peace in the house, I paid the $10 for the upgrade using the sub-account. As I only have the one sub-account, I really don't know if it would apply to just the one that purchased it, or to all. However, given the way the Deluxe was handled from the original pre-order, I suspect it would have to be the same idea - only the account purchasing the upgrade to Deluxe gets the items.

@baseFS I can confirm that I needed to buy it twice, once for each account. I checked, before buying the second add-on, that the second sub-account was not access to the first sub-account add-on. I

@Gorantoth I totally agree - I don't think EA really thought this through.
For me, the problems right now are in the wording, it's still called "Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2: Deluxe Upgrade" when clearly it's not and also the lack of any solution to the pre-order content for sub-accounts.
I can only hope that the next patch will resolve the issue.

It will be interesting to see if they ever do anything about this. The pre-order stuff would be nice to have for my daughter as I don't really play the game myself.

@Gorantoth So far we haven't seen any response from EA other than the original "solution", so it's difficult to assess whether a fix is in their plans or not. I hope it is as both my boys are nagging me regarding the pre-order stuff.

I must admit I'm pretty disappointed with myself for not checking this ahead of time and running into this same issue, but I will also add my voice to the frustration here.
I have an 11 year old and an 8 year old, both with their separate sub-accounts, that saved up their money to buy the deluxe edition. And are now both pretty disappointed that they don't get to access the deluxe content. I felt so bad that *I* gave them a partial refund out of my own pocket! Admittedly, they do play the game enough for me to not return it back to Amazon, and I do play once in a while on my account so they can see the content, but it kinda just leaves them frustrated every time...
Seems like a relatively simple solution would be to have EA do the same thing that was done with the content import from PvZ:GW -- and just apply the deluxe content to the main account and all sub-accounts. This should already work just fine, because when I went to the mailbox on my own account, I got the GW1 content for characters that I actually never earned on my main account, but that my kids had earned on their sub-accounts.
Anyway, still a fun game, but would love to have EA actually resolve this nicely...

I was surprised too when I found out that my two boys would not have access to the deluxe content on their accounts. I would have simply bought the base game if I would have known this. This is a bad move by EA. Definitely won't be buying any EA deluxe versions in the future.
