I see this combo played much less frequently since S2 was released. Still good, but people are finding ways that are less dependent to win games.

Well, they were playable pre S2. But I meant the use of them that I've seen has declined since the beginning of S2.

Thats normal for combo.....people realize that OTK in 50% of the games than winning by generating momentum and value over the course of the game and winning in a less pronounced manner but more often is bad

I think the problem goes deeper than just this one combo. The problem is that the plants just have access to far too much healing. The zombies, from what I can see, have three cards that can heal (barring superpowers): Nibble, Medic, and Nurse Gargantuar. Of these, Nurse is a legendary, and the only one that can heal repeatedly without getting replayed.
The plants have Poppin' Poppies, 2nd-Best Taco of All Time, Venus Flytrap, Venus Flytraplanet, Power Flower, and Astro Vera. Only two are legendary, and three of the non-legendary repeat if not destroyed. Not only that, but the plants also have access to Pepper M.D. and Heartichoke which both combo quite well with all these healing cards. It also helps that all the plant cards mentioned except Poppin' Poppies are in the same class, so any Solar hero can heal quite a bit.
Furthermore, unlike combos and strategies built around a keyword (e.g. Mushroom, Science, Pet, etc.) healing in itself affects the game. Something as potent and desirable as healing already is should not be the basis for combos and deck designs as if it were merely another descriptor. I don't care how expensive or uncommon it is; to see healing used in this way was simply a bad design choice.
