As many have said, and I agree, this game is WAY TOO GRINDY. It's just not any fun. I don't see this game having the level of success of the previous games. They have taken the joy out of the game big time.
Yeah the grind is a bit much overall i feel. But i like grinding in games, it gives me something to do. As long as that something is mostly PvE focused. I'm not a fan of grinding PvP. As long as they keep adding new zones with bosses i'll mostly keep my mouth shut. But the exp needed for these bulbs is way too high even for a grinder like myself lol.

If you actually played garden warfare 2 you would know that grinding character ranks was longer than in BfN. + getting to max rank with that many variants took way more time.
You'd get about the same amount of coins as in BfN, and the best pack to open in GW2 was still the 35k pack ( for highest chance of legendary), which is similar to 30k capsule in BfN.
Of course you can buy coins with real money in GW2 and you can't in BfN. Someone mentioned microtransactions in BfN in this post, I don't know what you've been smoking as there are no microtransactions that involve payments yet so far in the game.
As for prize bulb exp, you are not meant to unlock everything within a week, but rather a month seems more likely the goal of Popcap.
- 6 years ago@KrudeGaming Except you had literally forever to get to max rank and grind all characters. This Halloween event lasts a month and once its over the items will seemingly be never available again. Not that this should have to be said, but some people simply just don't have the time to play and grind every single day. And about microtransactions, I certainly hope they keep their word. I'm pretty sure they are monetizing just the events, which would explain why it is so extremely grindy unfortunately.... It just is looking like they are going to be using the natural fear of missing out on their customers with these events, which is still.. not cool. I can't say that for certain though, so we will see.
And for the 30k capsules, the difference between these and gw's stickerpacks is that you only get one single item, and half time its just a quote, thats why it feels so unrewarding. The update definitely helped a bit with that though. - 6 years ago
If you actually played GW2 you’d know that leveling up characters took long because of the massive amount of coins it gives you. Getting max with many variants means more fun and more coins. The GW2 packs are 35k and give multiple items with the highest chance of legendaries vs 30k for ONE item. Of course you can buy coins in GW2 but you NEVER have a reason to if you actually play the game. Someone mentioned micro transactions because it’s EA and it WILL be added very soon. And as for the prize bulb exp with literally every game with multiplayer having some kind of stupid battle pass, it’s way too much to grind. I have to pick if I want to spend all my time on BFN dealing with the nerfed and still way too overpowered mushroom or playing 13 other games with some kind of battle pass or limited progress event. IT. IS. WAY. TOO. MUCH.

Agree that 15k is too much. Makes sense why they did battle pass; it’s the new trend for online games. I won’t be surprised if they added pay real money to get more bulbs as it works in every other game. The grind isn’t surprising. What is surprising is that no battle pass is locked behind premium currency. The game probably has plans to get people to pay for cosmetics, and at least we know they are listening thanks to the Trello board. Popcap/EA definitely aren’t just taking money and running. They’re trying to improve without changing everything really fast so their changes doesn’t cause more problems. I really hope this game can succeed and improve and survive for a very long time
- 6 years ago@KrudeGaming Idk what you're smoking, but you need to calm yourself, let the Zen flow through you! Very un-Dave like my dude. At any rate, i was there day 1 GW1... we had no option to buy the coins... the option to buy coins didn't hit GW1 for about a month lol. So don't give me that crap.
Also i was there for GW2, i didn't play it as much though, because it felt like a massive step backwards in terms of PvP, especially the lame maps. The maps in GW2 can't hold a candle to the genius that was GW1's maps.
I know all about grind, i was an EverQuest player for years. It doesn't mean everyone else has the time to grind bulbs with only a 4 week time period. Some people have jobs, kids, obligations. As a monthly event, the time investment seems a bit high on the exp side of things.
Calm yourself.
