Agree with all the above.... the time to earn bulbs has gone from a bit of a grind (I don't mind grinding) to a total grind
and the fun has all but gone for me too.
We have to be able to earn bulbs in a reasonable time frame so that people can utilise the time they have to play and still be able to complete the map....
its pretty ridiculous to expect people to give up SO much time out of their busy lives/families/jobs etc... people just are not able to do that.
And lets be honest, we are really talking about a HUGE amount of grinding and time for what amounts to a couple of hats, customisations and one costume (x 2 colours) plus emotes and slabs (most of which wont ever get used by most people).
It just isn't worth it for most people even if they had the time I would imagine.
@spIash_damage I like you love GW2 (never played GW1) .... have spent 2000 hours in gw2 or something..... but I don't play any other game, the arrival of BFN was super exciting and much welcomed....
and I love the potential of this game.... have adapted to the new graphics/playstyle etc and have coped with the numerous and neverending PC issues for both me and my partner since the beginning of the Founders edition, hung in there hoping that all would get sorted out and this would become the awesome game it could be.... love it and the new characters and maps etc etc... hope that Ops will be better in the end etc etc etc.......................................
however I find my interest already waning... primarily I think, or at least the last straw for me, seems to be due to this bulbs earning situation.... we grinded a lot last month as I was going away.... and the map was doable ( I was not too busy and was able to spend a lot of time in the game grinding out Ops, challenges etc).
When returning from my trip I returned to having 55 bulbs due to the 30 bulbs giveaway... so have spent the last week playing but really for nothing.... max bulbs so while earning them they didn't count... so just gathering coins.... nothing to spend them on either....
but its fine I thought the new prize map is coming.... yay....
however so was the patch and the earning rates of XP change and therefore bulb earning potential.....
even with the head start of 55 bulbs for the prize map... the grind involves crazy amounts of time and games and XP...
after playing for a few days I don't find it appealing or fun anymore,
the huge time between that wee ding-a-ling noises of being rewarded a prize bulb is so infrequent and unrewarding that I am losing interest fast.
I am scared for the game to be honest as much of the community it seems feels the same and it is very sad that such a loyal community is being turned off at such a great rate when the game has literally just been globally released.
And the way the global release itself was handled was a bit weird , but that's another discussion.
Fingers crossed they (Popcap, Devs, EA) can turn it around, but my feeling is they are running out of time.
