@ToastedSarnieYeah this is what is strange about this entire situation to me. I remember a while back they were talking about how the GW games had some very high retention times. I figured they saw this and finally realized how much potential the series had and were going to dump a ton of resources into it. Already, they seem to have been trying to advertise the heck out of it. And BfN seems to have a lot of attempts that try and increase that GW retention time (which uhh fail for reasons highlighted in this thread).....But... then they changed everything.. released the game in a broken state... and seem to be taking their good ol time to fix it. No matter what happens, this isn't a GW game. They should not be expecting it to perform like one, or have the same retention times. I'm just afraid BFN won't do so hot and they will just think nobody wants anymore PVZ shooters. I just can't understand after all these years why they would decide to make the greatest shift in gameplay and style AFTER realizing how well and successful the original formulas worked. GW and GW 2 are some of my favorite games ever, but they were undoubtedly flawed. Poorly balanced and buggy, especially GW 2... They had the chance to finally fix those issues and perfect the formula and release a truly great game with GW 3 or something... but they didn't.. Will there ever even be another GW game? Is that even possible at this point, are the same teams still there, I would think not seeing how BfN is being handled so far.
Ah well, just a shame. I can't say I play BFN all that much anymore, and I'm starting to lose hope that it will ever be fixed. Even if it does fix all of its issues magically, I'm not so sure I would ever be able to play it or enjoy it as much as the GW games.
