So it’s come to my attention that you now can buy prize bulbs with rainbow stars how does everyone feel about this? personally I probably will never be in the position to need to buy them as I play nearly everyday for about 3-4 hours but I can imagine someone who can’t get on maybe buying some... Prices are as follows 25 prize bulbs for 1000 rainbow stars and 75 prize bulbs for 2500 rainbow stars. Seems a bit high to me as that’s basically £10 for 25 prize bulbs but what’s everyone’s thoughts?

Unbelievable. Guess we really are just walking wallets afterall! 🤭 They must be trying to squeeze the last few pennies out of their dying game. Absolutely ridiculous. Every single patch seems to be making the game more and more egregious. Load the game up with microtransactions after launch to prevent them from tainting review scores! Classic! Thanks for selling us a solution to a problem you created, at such a horrible value that it must be a joke! Another classic!I think I'm just about done, I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. BFN has been a disappointment in almost every possible way and instead of working to fix that, they seem to be trying to find more ways to pickpocket children.

I personally can't stand this idea. This just encourages people to pay their way through the Prize Map, rather than just play the game normally and earn Bulbs. They lowered the XP Rate for a reason, so people didn't feel like they were just grinding away for one Prize Bulb. I have a hard enough time trying to find Lobbies on PC, and if people are able to just purchase the whole prize map outright, it's going to be that much more difficult. Speaking of buying out the whole Prize Map, if you're at 0 Prize Bulbs, that's roughly $70 USD to purchase the whole thing...that's a bit much, don't you think? Edit: Plus, it takes out the sense of "Accomplishment" for trying to complete the whole Prize Map. It keeps people logging in every day to do the Dailies, and Weekly Character Challenges. With this in place, it ruins everything.

Nobody should be fine with this. This is predatory behavior. Casuals shouldn't be punished for their playstyle. They buy the base game the same as everyone else. But they could miss out on characters because they don't have as much time, or unable/unwilling to spend more money than a hardcore player?You could get every variant, character, ability and cosmetic in Garden Warfare 2 without paying extra. You could take you sweet time without the fear of missing out. Veterans and hardcore players should speak up for the others.Popcap, who are you? You microtransactions are increasingly aggressive, yet there are still fundamental balance and gameplay issues. I used to play every day for 4-5 hours. Now, I'm not even on most days. If I am, it's maybe an hour or two to complete quests. I intend to complete the Feastivus prize map, and then I'm probably done. And it pains me to type that, because I have put more hours into GW2 than any other game I have played, including RPGs and MMOs.Have you seen the threads and responses regarding the state of the game? I noticed this myself after the update and I sort of sighed a bit, but I wasn’t surprised.EA has clearly mandated that PopCap go heavy with micro-transactions with this iteration of the game and since pay-to-win carries too much of a stigma nowadays the only real option is to push the FOMO tactics and lean heavily into the psychological hooks which prey on those with poor spending control and who may not have the disposable income.I myself have simply been ignoring the fact that Rux even exits in the game at all since it’s clear that he’s a “cash only” business now. I spent the free Rainbow Stars I received on a Chomper costume and I won’t bother even checking Rux again until I earn 1000 on my own- which will probably be in 6 months or so if I’m still playing at all.I’d complain far less about the Rainbow Star economy if costumes and such simply cane into the store and stayed available as opposed to the predatory FOMO limited availability tactics being employed currently.PvZ:BfN is the first EA game I’ve bought since GW2 and there may not be another after this since it seems no game or franchise is safe from the predatory monetization tactics.

Welcome to a new episode of "How to ruin a game". Today: "one more nail in the coffin".I really don't get it. First I was excited about being able to get Rainbow Stars for spending Prize Bulbs. But no, it's the other way around. Of course.Some ideas about the next patch: Stars for Coins, Stars for Tacos/Badges/Marshmallows, Stars to use the XP-Machine more than 5 times per day/ Stars to get some new stuff out of the Reward-O-Tron but not with Coins, Stars to reset PVE areas, Stars to get certain buffs in PVP.Sorry für being sarcastic but I'm badly disappointed and frustrated.Of course it is great for players who don't have the time to finish the maps in time but once again with cash only. And look at the prices - way too high. I stocked up 15 million Coins but it feels so useless. They keep giving me worthless currencies while PopCap tries to force me into paying cash.Edit: BfN feels like playing those Free-to-play games.

That’s definitely a plus especially for players that don’t have time to play several hours a day. I myself play way more than enough to earn enough prize bulbs. It does seem very high! I think 1000 rainbow stars should give ya a minimum of 50 prize bulbs. I guess we’ll see if this option stays live.

It is a good idea but it's not even working. When you try to purchase it takes you to real purchase screen.

With the 75 prize bulb option, how would that work if you can only save 50 at a time? I’ve saved over 50 (looked like this: 66-50 prize bulbs) but did they raise the amount of bulbs you can save up??

@DeAtHaDDiCtiOn5 I’d say not (an increase) but you could over clock in the last two month as when they gave 30 bulbs free players that who were already at 50 had 80/50 in the bank so I guess it would be the same again

lol. I read it wrong. I thought I read bulbs for rainbow stars not the other way. I have been maxed out for a week. This is not a good idea. Popcap- you have more bad ideas as usual. Keep up with the pay to play ideas. What a joke.

@FootSoldier9908 It’s not really pay to play though as you’ve pointed out your maxed so it hasn’t hampered you I’m nearly complete as well ain’t even done any keys fully yet. It’s more pay to advance or pay to not grind it’s a whole new genre in itself haha 😂
