While I am not usually a fan of microtransactions, I will admit to picking up a few in GW2. There are two significant differences between GW2 and BfN purchases. First, I was never concerned about missing out on anything in GW2. But once a map has expired in BfN, we have no idea if or when that content will be back.
Secondly, the prices stink. I spent $9.99 on the Frontline Fighters upgrade in GW2. I received 2 legendary characters, 400 thousand coins, and a cosmetic pack. But I could've earned all that in the game if I wanted to put the time in.
The Feastivus Pack is $9.99, and you only get cosmetics. No characters, no currency, and no way to earn them in game. It's just an awful value.
I gave you some XP because I think it's good to have friendly debates on the forum.
@kapkarrot The value of costumes changes in BFN. Why should I care about 2 legendary characters, 400k coins and a cosmetic pack if I can get that by just playing the game? (I agree though it is a better deal I'm just saying). I think a skin for $5 is fair. Not overly generous, but fair. Your choice if you want to buy it, you can live without it after all.
And for the record, I haven't spent any money on microtransactions, in any game. At all! I feel kinda bad tbh for not supporting Popcap unlike you guys. I just think that costumes don't have *any* value! Much better things to spend money on.
