Just bought pvz 2 about a week ago and after downloading update and accepting terms of service i get the logging into EA on the upper left corner of the screen and then a notice that says you must be sighned into playstation network to continue. any work around ? is this something that maybe in a later update.so far i have.
Deleted and redownloaded updates several times
logged off and on on psn
restarted the ps4 from prompts ,button and plug from wall
checked my network pvz 1, and all other games work great
changed my mtu
redid my modem from the begining and hooked ps4 up to ethernet cable
checked to make sure the ps4 and EA are linked
Not really sure were to go from here have looked at all the forums i could find
psn screen redlaw321
Hey all,
Thanks for all the updates - and clearly there is a problem on EA's part with PvZ GW2 on the PS4 with PSN log-ins.
TBH, we've given up here. I'll be looking at getting a refund, as we have a disc-based game that simply doesn't work with any kind of consistency. Even solo mode requires this to start, which is frankly bizarre. Maybe this is some kind of anti-piracy measure, but it ends of penalising honest, money-paying customers.
No word as to an update or a fix. For shame, EA. What a way to treat customers (you know, the ones that actually pay for your products).
Sigh.

Thinking you may be right about EA, will definitly have to give more thought about buying other EA Games. Havnt even heard if they have made any progress on a solution, am very dissapointed!
- Anonymous10 years agoDoes anyone know if you have to open ports on the router, in order to play this game? If so, does anyone know the ports to open?
- Anonymous10 years ago
go here for a listing of ports, I tried it and it didnt help!

- Anonymous10 years agoive just about given up on this issue which I have been experiencing as well since buying the game about 3 weeks ago.
its especially discouraging when your enquiries get met with the same troubleshooting links you've scoured way before posting on a forum such as this or tweeting etc. I understand/appreciate the troubleshooting process but reading all available responses to this issue online; no options are provided by EA and/or PSN further than power-cycling of routers, opening up of ports etc.
I am also able to play PvZGW 1 without any hassles, along with other online multiplayer titles (purchasing and downloading PSN games included). - 10 years ago
Can't see any resolution on the horizon while there's still no acknowledgement from EA/Popcap that this is even an issue.
I'm done. Taking this game back tomorrow for a refund and I'd suggest everybody suffering the same problem to do the same.
If you're still keen on playing it when (if) it's fixed, it'll probably be bargain bin price by then.

PvZGW 1 is one of my all time fave games to re-/play. I'm not into trophy hunting but I unintentionally achieved like 90% completion upon checking and getting 100% was enjoyable! it remains my only Platinum Trophy title to date. I love it THAT much!
2.
in reference to you saying "no acknowledgement..."
both points compound my frustration with not being able to enjoy PvZGW 2! apart from the obvious financial frustration.
I pride myself on being able to resolve most issues through online/peer interrogation etc but just finding others (as yourself) having the same problem and not finding any working solution anywhere is really weird; together with the fact that EA, Playstation Network, PopCap etc cannot provide a direct response other than the courteous (and required) basic troubleshooting answers.
I'm not sure what refund options are available to me,though I have all receipts etc. - 10 years ago
^I'm based in Australia and returned it to EB Games no problem with a full refund. Not sure which country you're in but in Australia the contract of sale is where you purchased the goods from and THEY are the ones ultimately responsible for resolving issues with faulty goods. I would assume most countries have similar laws?
In this particular case my young lad saved his pennies for months to buy this game so he's pretty gutted, but happy to get his money back and buy another game that actually works!
- Anonymous10 years agohey, thanks for that response.
I'm in RSA, just got advice from Playstation SA voa Twitter to contact an independant (assume) guy and he tweeted as well.
gonna give that a shot and explore my refund options. - Anonymous10 years agoHi guys,
I've been having the same problem for a couple weeks now. I've called EA support three times, with three different supplied solutions.
First solution was to power down ps4, unplug it from the wall, then unplug the router for 30 seconds, then power everything back up. It works, but super annoying everytime you want to play GW2. Especially when all other games work fine.
Second time I called, I was told to download Origin, relink my ps4 account with my EA account (because, obviously, we need three different accounts to play one game). This did not work.
Tonight when I called again, they said that I needed to rebuild the database, and that would surely work. I was supplied with the proper steps to boot into safe mode and perform this task. It did not work.
My son spent $80 of his birthday money to buy this game and it's been nothing but trouble. He loved garden warfare 1, but gw2 has just been a nightmare.
We bought the online version, and I certainly feel that I've put in enough effort to make this work. Sadly, it's time for a refund, and I hope at least that works!!

have contacted EA myself also and been told there is no real solution but they are aware of the problem, Be really nice to hear if they were actually working on a resolution or we are just a few of the minor problems and not a big deal!
- Anonymous10 years agoI gave up, and traded the game in!

Its a really hard one to track as I have been in contact with several people with the issue and they have it sometimes, then can connect at other times. It doesnt seem to have anything to do with our servers....we are aware of it and trying to figure it out but this one is tough as its infrequent and seems to just work sometimes and not work other times.
- Anonymous9 years ago
my psn is redlaw321 and they are free to contact me, I have not ever been able to play the game as of yet !
- Anonymous9 years ago
same issue here, if its not being kicked off servers or unable to connect then its enter PSN. My 11 yr old in tears today because he saved up for it and was so exited. if i had read this lot forst i would have not let him buy it

Hi EA_Jenni
Thanks for the update - and also to all the other posters in this thread. It's been great to hear from everyone experiencing the same problem - keep up the reports as it would be good for EA to be able to fix this.
Has anyone tried GW2 with the latest 3.50 patch applied to the PS4?
I've had more success with the 3.50 update, so wanted to see if anyone is still having the PSN issue with the latest 3.50 patch (as I may have gotten lucky for the times I've tried it since the update).
Thanks
Matt
- Anonymous9 years ago
yes i tried with the 3.50 update and for me it did not help. from what i am reading and hearing out there im starting to wonder if its not connected some how to the latency of the individual internet connection, just taking milli seconds to long to connect to both EA and psn networks and the game having to tight of tolerances between the two connections and then timing out. Would make sense why some people can play some of the time and not other times.

Nowadays it's nearly impossible to me connect in this game... all of my tries to avoid this error (like play a EA FIFA match before PVZ; start a psn download; watch a video) seems to be ineffective now (not saying that this actions were a solution... but it was working for me - although it was very annoying).
In my case when a bought the game (pre-sale) and started to play this problem only appeared after the patchs/updates (more ou less 1 month ago).
- 9 years agoEA has been aware of this for this long and still no resolution. bought ps4 and pvzgw2 new, downloaded patch and game only works when signed into psn. when can we expect a fix??? how many children must suffer?
- Anonymous9 years agoI have pvz garden warfare the only game i could afford for my son and he cant play it
- Anonymous8 years ago
I just bought the PvZ GW2 and I too have the 'must be signed into PSN' problem. Clearly this is a problem for many. I didn't realize EA games have such problems. Unless there is a fix, i'll have to try to go for a refund as well as carefully consider if I buy EA games in the future. Please let me know if there is a fix.

@jeffersonjchoi Have you checked that you are signed into the PSN? The accepted solution in this thread has worked for many: https://answers.ea.com/t5/PvZ-Garden-Warfare-1/You-must-be-signed-in-to-quot-psn-quot-to-continue/td-p/4713113
