PS4 Error failed to retrieve saved data.

Everytime i boot up the game this error always pops up, I just skip connecting to the ea server so I can play. I tried using my other account and it connects to the ea server just fine it even asked me to make an ea account unlike on my main one. I can play online just fine but the settings and customizations aren't saved so everytime a match starts, I always configure it which is time consuming and tedious. Also, I tried looking for the save data on my ps4 but it's not there, every other games' save are all there except this game.

Can anyone please help me with this problem?

  • How're you skipping the connection to EA servers? The only way you get your save file is allowing it to connect to the EA servers..

Whenever I start the game, the error "Failed to retrieve save data!" appears and I just press the x button(which stands for OK) and then another pop-up appeared wherein it said that "Are you sure you want to proceed with no saving?" and I just agree to it also. I can still play the game normally, it's just that the settings and customizations are not saved. The progress I have made with the unlocking of characters and teir weapon upgrades are saved.

Are you on PS4 or Xbox?  Is the other account a child account?  Is it linked correctly with an Origin account with an 8 character password with a cap and a number in it?

Have you rebooted the console (not rest mode). Turn it completely off and on again

  • The thread states it is a PS4 problem and I am also encountering the exact same thing. Everything seems to work fine playing online however it always fails to retrieve save data. Turning it on and off again did not work for me

I just want to be clear; you guys are turing off the playstation completely and not putting it into rest mode?  You can also try deleting the entire game (saves are on the cloud).  Make sure your PS+ and internet are working correctly just in case.

Last thoght: you can reboot the router in your house if you think it might be your internet being wonky

Yes, I tried  turning of the ps4 completely and rebooting the the router but the error still appears. As for the save data, there's no option for it to upload to the ps+ storage so I'm worried that if I delete my save data, I will lose my progress.
