[PS5] Crashing when playing Split Screen

My partner bought ps plus to play split screen with me , but everytime she tries to join, the game instantly crashes. We have tried multiple things to make it work but it doesn't do anything.  It crashes as soon as the join timer to play split screen ends.  (PS5)
