PvZ BfN without Xbox Live Gold?

Hello,

I have received Plante vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville for the Xbox One for my birthday. On the package it says "Internet Required" and "Online Singleplayer".

Internet I have, but no Xbox Live Gold, since no interest. Can I play the game without Xbox Live Gold in Singleplayer and Couch Coop or not?

    Hello,
    Thank you for all the answers and assistance. That was very warm and great. I have contacted Amazon customer service. They told me that you can play the game without an Xbox Live Gold membership (paid). Only one Xbox Live account (free) is required.

    I tried it afterwards and it works. As with many games you only need Xbox Live Gold Membership (paid) for the online multiplayer module.

    There is no type of single player like that yet (to my knowledge).

    Someone correct me, if I’m wrong (I’m on PS4), but Xbox Live will likely be required.

    @ToastedSarnie Just to make it perfectly clear to me? Do I need an Xbox Live account or an Xbox Live Gold membership. I have an Xbox live account. Xbox Live Gold I do not have, because I do not play online.

    @Pohly09If you've already got an Xbox Live account, I think you should be fine, as that is an online account. Added : sorry, I misunderstood your original post & didn't think you had an account at all.

    I'm not an expert, but I think Xbox Live Gold just gives you more perks, like being able to add family accounts who can all access your games.

    Thanks for your help. Doesn't anyone have a reliable statement? Because if I try it, I can't return it because the seal is broken. So I would like to know for sure if the game is playable without an Xbox Live Gold Membership.

    Gotcha.

    If you received the game and already have Xbox Live, turn on your Xbox, select the game/insert disc, get back to us with an answer?

    You’re not getting a “reliable” answer because it doesn’t make sense to some of us.. If you have Xbox Live and the game, you should check and let us know (if you don’t mind).

    Not trying to be rude- EA staff is gone until tomorrow.  Just trying to help.

    EDIT: everyone who answered/replied is trying to help but we’re just gamers like you.  If we knew 100% what to tell you, we would.

    @spIash_damage as I wrote earlier: If I try this, I am Not able to Return the Game cause of broken Seal.

    If there is any unfriendly Thing in my Text please ignore IT. I am no native. I am from Germany.

    I now understand why you cannot open the game.
