scannow has found some corrupt files but is unable to fix some of them
This is the rest function you tried?
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/windows-10-recovery-options
under "Reset your PC"
"Keep my files" is usually the one you want.
This should be essentially reinstalling Windows 10 fresh. All installed programs are no longer installed but data files all remain.
If that's the reset you already tried... perhaps try a fresh install from the Windows 10 disk. ISO images are available freely from microsoft just make sure you get the right version for the license you have.

Tried that just now. Still nothing

After the reset/reinstall does sfc /scannow report problems still?
Maybe throw up a fresh DXDiag report to see if the error messages have changed at all.

mmmm... Do any other games cause you problems? If you don't have any others you can maybe use a Benchmark tool like Furmark to test.
shcore.dll shcore.lib..... I can't seem to find any related crashes for anybody on google on any game or app really.... I'm basically guessing these have something to do with graphics in windows going by google results.
... If it fails other games/benchmarks. Maybe double check that the power supply is properly connected to the 970, nothing came loose or anything like that.

When the game loads then crashes. Afterwards does it create a new Documents folder for PVZGW2? Possibly you can try forcing borderless mode or something.
edit with notepad.
\settings\PROF_SAVE_profile
Borderless:
GstRender.FullscreenMode 2GstRender.FullscreenScreen 1
