In ops mode, you can plant the pots and bots around the graveyard or garden. In multiplayer, you can plant pots or bots if you are on defense, or spawnable zombies or weeds if you are on offense.
In games you can plant them for defense, such as Turf Takeover. You can also use them in Garden ops. Hope this helped.
