PvZ Heroes - Actions You Should Take If Starting Over On A New Account!
Hey everyone,
I am @TheSprinter85 and I still enjoy playing PvZ Heroes despite the lack of new content that the game is getting from EA and PopCap. I like to create guides on this forum to help other players, and this guide will go over what you should do if you need to remove your account and start over again due to some sort of issue or even just if you want to start from scratch entirely. I actually did this recently so I could relive the experience of the game again. Again, I really enjoy playing PvZ Heroes so I thought this was a cool idea. Continue reading this guide if you plan on removing your account due to resolving an issue by resetting your progress or if you just feel like resetting your account.
Aim of This Guide: If you are going to start over on a new account because you want to or because of an issue that will probably only be fixed by creating a new account, this guide will cover tips that you can employ to prevent these issues from happening again.
First of all, if you have lost your game progress for any reason and want to try to recover it, check out this link to see if you can do so: https://help.ea.com/en/help/mobile/troubleshoot-lost-mobile-game-progress/.
Anyway, that is the basics. Let's get started!
Link Your Account
You can link your account on PvZ Heroes to back it up, and to have a high chance of restoring your progress entirely if you come across this issue again. You can link your account through different services, including linking to:
- Your EA Account.
- Your Facebook Account.
- Your Apple or Google Play Account.
If you do not have any of these, you can create an account for at least one of these services. I would suggest connecting your PvZ Heroes account to multiple of these services if possible, as you will have more ways to back up and restore your progress in case of an issue. To link your account this way, go into your Settings menu, and select the "My Account" button. This will allow you to link your account through other services. You should do this quickly after you have set up your account, so if you run into issues early on and you are to delete your app and reinstall it to try and fix that issue. It is likely that you will have an EA account if you play at least one other EA title, so you could use that EA account. If you have a Facebook account, you can easily connect to that account, and it is greatly likely that you will either have an Apple account or Google Play account if you have other apps on your mobile device or computer, which you could link as well.
Check this link for more information on linking your account and backing up your game: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/mobile/can-my-lost-progress-be-restored-for-a-mobile-app-if-i-play-anonymously.
Set Your Age Carefully
When you start a new account, you will be asked to put in your age. You should be careful of which age you set to on your account, because it will have different impacts on your game depending on what you set your age to. If you set your age under 18 or so, you will not be able to add or battle friends or link your account, and some other settings may be impacted on your game as well. Once you set your age, this will be permanent, so be careful what you will set your age to. You should theoretically set your age under 18 if you are, but do not fret too much if you do set your age under 18 for this reason, as you will "age up" each year appropriately to counteract this issue. Alternatively, you could get someone else to set up your account for you. If you have your age set to under 18 and you want to change it, you will have to reinstall the app and start from the beginning, but if you notice this issue early, this will not take long to resolve.
Detect Any Issues Quickly
When you are starting out on your new account, keep track of any issues that you come across. The reason for this is because you can try and fix these issues before you begin properly playing the game. The good news with detecting any issues quickly as well is that if you cannot seem to fix them or you cannot find out how to fix them, you could delete and redownload your app before you make any proper progress, and this will likely fix your issue as well. You can use these forums or EA Help for assistance on fixing many issues you may come across without having to reinstall the app yet again, but you can reset as a second option before you have made too much progress so you can deal with any of these issues quickly. For instance, you may come across consistent connection errors, being unable to link your account or add and battle friends, or your game constantly needing a download. Detect these issues quickly and you can save lots of time.
ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS
If you start over on a new account, whether it be because you got a new device, you wanted to start over or if you had an issue and needed to start over as a result, you will probably want to ensure that you do not need to set up a new account yet again. For this reason, I suggest that you follow the tips that I have already provided in this guide, and that you do it early on before you run into a problem and therefore run a risk of needing to restart yet again. You can link your account shortly after you have started playing, and make sure that you set your age appropriately when the age prompts come up. Detect any issues you may come across early in the game to prevent these issues causing further trouble later down the line. As well as following these tips, here are a few more tips that you can follow in addition to secure and protect your new account from possibly needing to be removed again. All of these tips will still apply even if you just desired to have a new account.
Identify and Note Your Player ID: On your PvZ Heroes account, you will have a unique Player ID. This is unique to your account only, and no other player will have this account. This Player ID is very important as you will need to provide the Player ID to help you solve an issue or to likely be able to restore your progress if you lose your account with EA Help. You can find your Player ID by going to the Settings section of your game, and your Player ID will be shown to you on the very bottom of your screen.
If you are having trouble finding your Player ID, follow this link for directions: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/plants-vs-zombies/plants-vs-zombies-heroes/find-your-plants-vs-zombies-heroes-player-id.
Refer To EA Help For Issues: If you are having an issue with your game, they can generally be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling your app. But at what cost? All of your progress! Even if you have backed up your account, there is a unlikely possibility that you will get your progress back, and for what, just fixing a single issue? Try to use EA Help instead to resolve an issue, which you can actually access EA Help directly from your game by heading to the Settings menu, selecting "Contact Support" and your device will take you directly where you need to. Select your topic and explain your issue from there and you are good to go. You will need to provide your Player ID, which you can do by following the steps mentioned above.
You can use this link to get to EA Help to report an issue here: https://help.ea.com/plants-vs-zombies/plants-vs-zombies-heroes/.
Troubleshoot When You Have Issues: If you have an issue in your game, you may be able to troubleshoot your device or game to deal with the issue without contacting EA Help or having to reinstall the app and possibly download the app from scratch. This saves possibly losing progress and having to start over, so if you can troubleshoot your device to fix an issue, this will be much simpler and safer for your account. Common issues may generally be solved by restarting your device, checking that you are connected to WiFi and the internet or whatnot and trying again later, but this will not always be the case.

Additionally, when you have issues, make a new post on this forums or check out older posts on issues you may be having for further assistance. Anyway, hopefully these actions will help you to secure a new account you may have if you have had or wanted to start over in the past.
