PVZ Heroes Suggestion: Ra Zombie buff

Hi,

Maybe such post has been posted already, but I would like to see a buff / change to the Ra zombie, as I don't see many YouTubers / players using it in their decks

These are some of the ideas that I came up with:

1 ) As long as this zombie is on the field, plant hero loses 2 sun every turn (might become too op)

2) As long as this zombie is on the field, plant hero can't receive extra sun (this includes sun-producing plants effect + solar flares signature power)

3) at the begining of each turn, plant hero loses one sun and you get one brain ( similar to number 1)

4) at the begining of each turn, plant hero loses one sun and your zombies are healed for one

These are some of the ideas that I came up with as suggestions to improve / buff Ra zombie in some fashion. Personally I prefer the second one because of its creativeness and how unique it is. It is good to know that all these ideas come with an adjustment to the brain cost or stats depending on which ability would be applied to Ra zombie.

Hopefully I was able to contribute some useful ideas / suggestions for the games improvement.

Thanks and keep up the good updates

  • @mayer_ershad i really don't think it necessary. The cardsis basically the zombie equivalent to brainana. While ra only removes 2 sun, you have to consider plants can only play brainana AFTER you've had the opportunity to play your minion cards; and that for the same cost, plants get a 3/3.

The other problem i have with it (although hopefully only temporarily) is the continuous aspect of the effect on the opponent, that can completely counter certain strategies. Zombies already have two of those cards (which are both strong even before the effect) with def end shutting down trick decks and bonus track shutting down repeat decks... plants have zero of these kinds of cards.

I'm not saying the card shouldn't be reworked, but let the plants get a couple "zombies can't use deadly" or "zombies cant use frenzy" cards before we continue to use continuous effect cards on plants.
  • @daalnnii Although I agree that plants are going to be completely shuted down by a continuous effect, the cost of it for the zombies comes into effect and the comparison of it to defensive end.

Assuming you play this on turn 6, you limit yourself with the attack and defensive power of this card, which is basically telling plants to take this out with things like berry blast or other minions that can take this out (basically due to it cost, you can't play anything else, letting the plant hero to take it out and beef up it's defense with whatever he gets leftover from 4 sun this turn)

The other thing is that defensive end is much better choice than Ra zombie for the same price, as for each trick being played by plants technically triggers such effect. Knowing that it also comes with better stats + armor + sports and gargs synergy, there would be almost no point in using this, as one trick can make the plant hero to lose 2 more sun, which is the buffed version of Ra zombie due to potential further loses that you can have in one turn ( I know it's only tricks, but it would be much better choice as players usually save at least one trick to play each round)

So when you think about it, due to defensive end pretty much covering ability of Ra zombie with better stats and synergizes, it would be better if the ability of this zombie changes in a way which would make it a bit more unique (and useful) , as I find out in the second ability in the suggestions including brain price change, it would show up More frequently in the matches.

P.s. morning Glory and freeze should do the trick. See? Countering it is quite easy ... Plus you got 2 sun in spare while zombies have spent all of their brains on this guy

@Hashemshem28 again, i don't disagree that the ra could use a rework. But continuous effect id's a very powerful thing... That plants have zero access to. I feel the game is sitting at decent balance at the moment.

But, that doesn't mean we can't exchange ideas on how to rework the card.

Here's mine: plant heroes lose 1 sun for every zombie on the board on the turn this is played.
  • @daalnnii the continuity idea is just to make it a bit more useful as taking him out is not that hard so the effects are not gonna cause fatality if taken out on time, but I guess it can also be modified in a fashion were spending 6 brains would have a bigger impact in plants.

I was thinking of a rework, where plant hero is not able to get extra sun (including sun producing plants and solar flares signature power effect) as long as this guy is on the field with a downgrade in price from 6 to 4 (Just an idea that seemed interesting to me).

The idea of yours seems to me like an improvement, but I was wondering if the idea could get further modifications by synergizing it with history zombies? Like this:

Plant hero loses 1 sun for each history zombie (continuous or single time)

Not that it should be exactly like this, but some thing along this line

@Hashemshem28 i love the idea of continuous effect plus/dependendant on history synergy!

I think we might be getting somewhere now!
  • @daalnnii I wish there was a way to pass this idea to devs. At least, this would make history synergy as a sun reducing synergy, while sport synergy focuses on beefing up and Garg synergy focuses on distributing different traits to all zombies such as frenzy and bullseye.

Unfortunately, it seems like this idea is not gonna get anywhere outside of this post (high levels of pesimisim aka reality detected)

I believe Continuous + history would be countered by either getting rid of Ra zombie with heavy hits or removing his effect by taking out other zombies.

I wish there was a way get the idea to the devs, but ... It might be too dreamy for such thing to occur.

@Hashemshem28 Don't give up hope just yet! @EA_Andy is a pretty active member on the forums. And the devs do occasionally have QA threads on the forums (one just closed last Thursday, and we should be seeing the results of that session in the near future)

That's not to say they will accept every idea. In the end they are the final say on what goes on the game; but EA has made great strides in improving its customer relations and does put their eyes on the forums at a reasonable rate.

I don't know what their stance is on community think tank cards at this point, but I'm sure if card was a clever idea our reasonable rework, they'd at very least consider it.

Also, become an active and helpful member of the community. Answer questions when you can, provide insight and ideas. I know for fact this doesn't go unnoticed; and while everyone's opinions, expertuse and ideas are important, when its noticed that you can look at things from a helpful and considerate perspective, you do build up a certain level of clout among the community and the team at EA.
  • @daalnnii It is nice of you for inviting me to participate in the discussions and stuff, but i might not be able to participate frequently, due to me being on other discussions on other sites.

If by any chance you had the opportunity to participate in the new QA threat, it would be really appreciated if you could mention this idea and see how the devs would react to it.

You are a "champion" after all ... You might be able to pull such thing off.

@Hashemshem28 I usually like letting the people who come up with the ideas be the one to present them, but if you're not around during the next QA thread or if i get an opportunity to pass it along, I'll definitely do my best to present it.

That being said, you'd be a great member of this community. It's still pretty small and having thoughtful members such as yourself become a strong presence (good ideas and able to take criticism to come up with better ideas) would help set the tone all of us would like to see this community maintain.

I do understand wanting to have an active voice in all the games you love, though. Just don't think you're time here would be wasted!
  • @daalnnii for small changes like this, getting credit is not a necessity for me tbh. All I wanna see is that the game gets improved in some fashion.

Just so you know, you are more than welcome to get the credit for the idea, so people like me can rely more on "champions" like you.

Tbh, I had too much "good" experience with game discussions community, and I mean so much that people used to leave nothing on my posts as a sign of respect (hidden sarcastic statements).

I had great ideas for different games and used to write long essays for each change and potential outcomes that it could had, but then I realized that things just get ignored. Due to nature of people wanting to apply their opinion in some fashion and different people having different thoughts, I kinda realized that the care for the games might not worth the effort after all. It's not like that my life is dependent on it or something (reminds me of optional assignment back in school).

I also realize that there are people, who have a better reputation in the communities and are more willing to see a game's success. Unfortunately, I'm not that person anymore.

This might all sounds like a sad man's story, but this is what I think and I believe people like you would be better in gathering ideas and presenting them, potentially helping people getting their voices from hand to hand to upper positions and creating a benefit for people who play the game under this circumstance.

It's just a matter of time and experience that I had from other discussions. If such barriers were not in the way, I would have been more than happy to have a regular participation.

    Thanks again for the favor
