Re: About the "This announcement can change, we listen" part.

Hi!

I think this announcement is related to the whole content of the update. I can't understand why would they need feedback from us to continue the game? They don't need that because each one of us is here for the same reason: we want to continue playing the game. It would be surprising to see them asking "Probably deleting soon, do you want us to continue this game?".

About the questions you pointed, they are really good ones but that's the main reason I believe it has nothing to do with the possibility of the game development continuing because of us. If you're about to end a game of a well known franchise wouldn't you make it clear in bold letters that if the players support it, it won't end? What we received was very vague.

The very first moment the devs and the CM's went missing here and stopped communicating properly (if we ever had something like that) was the moment the development was already dead. What we're currently seeing probably is the past, content that was already planned and done months ago. It's like seeing a start in the sky, we can actually see it right now, but it was already dead light years ago.

After september's update I expect as much support as GW2 had (or less?): balance updates, it did really had plenty of them and that's what I think they're referring to, that once this whole thing happens they will keep listening to feedback to balance things in game like they did with GW2.

Of course, both of us could be wrong, or you could be right (I wish for god sake, it would be the best outcome) and I could be wrong. Why? Because, once again, "Here in EA we want to keep communicating and making things clear but we're gonna do the opposite and won't hire someone to answer properly most of your questions".

I think we will have some words (a few like the CM gave yesterday) at the end of this month.

@DonPanTriste Hi! I didn't actually want to call you out for your statement it could be about battle arena, but I read this comment a lot on Reddit and Youtube. therefore, I decided to analyze the exact wording across the languages I understand and can speak fluently. I am certified to speak French at European reference Standard B2 as well, but I haven't spoke or read French in a year. I think I could look into the French blog post as well, if there is one. My Italian should also be ok in theory, but that is in theory only. Now that I don't deal with these languages on a daily base anymore I confuse many French and Italian words.

I also felt like this blog post was really weird in general. They started out so happy with the first few paragraphs, only to announce this in 1 sad dream crushing sentence. I thought the "we're listening" part could be to soften the impact, but I think it would only make it worse if that were the case.

My thought on this is the following: Continuing BfN seems highly unlikely and not to be their plan. They are evaluating if PvZ is a commercially viable franchise, with the shooter series sinking in popularity and the huge outcry over PvZ 3 and the art style debate. They are maybe considering letting the team finish Iceburg Lettuce and trying to gain feedback if that would raise the interest in the game for just long enough to carry it to the Holiday season. Just my thought. Anything else wouldn't make sense to me considering the few facts we have.

  • @benn1nat0rDon't worry! I didn't feel called out, instead I'll properly edit my first message to reflect that.

I totally agree with your last paragraph
