I agree, but I would like an easier way to get the Unicorn Chomper. Hitting max level/rank in a game is hard as balls for any game, hows about throwing some coins or free packs for players in GW1?
If you look on Reddit as I did throughout my struggle you'll find they did have a pack sale previously, and a one time only offer of giving everyone 100 skip stars, but you need over 4000 skip stars to skip everything, straight up.
Thats over 15 million coins worth of crazy packs. How many coins do you want them to give you? Each challenge you do, you can knock off 4K from that total. I didn't see any pack sales and I didn't get any handouts, I did try to start a sort of levelling team, because some game modes don't start ever due to lack of players, but the ones I added thought we were going to boost each other so I never played with them.
If you play online as we are suggesting even the lower tier players can make upwards of 30k an hour, that's 100 hours for 3 mil. A higher skilled player can make anything between 800-1500 coins a minute, depending on team circumstances. Let's assume you make 1000 coins a minute each game, that's 50k an hour if you remove loading times and you know, be on the prudent side of life it'll still take you a good 300 hours to max it.
But factor this in also, after level 10, each level gives you another 10k coins as already mentioned, so that's 30 levels per character, 8 characters, 2.4 mil you will get from the levelling itself.
So in theory you only need to earn around 12-13 mil worth of coins. If you aim to do challenges then you can knock off a percentage off that sum with the same percentages of challenges you do, thus possible to max rank in 150-175, but I'd say even a pro would struggle to do it in 200 and that's what I aimed for. My overall time shows higher because I left the game running many nights farming at 10k an hour but I stopped doing that after I realised it was a waste of time when EA servers would go down, no coins would save.
If you want to ignore the challenges, completely then skip them all? You will have to play the game longer to get 313 then. My goal was 313, so I grit my teeth and played like a dummy, selfish, respawned 50 times a game if I had to, in order to compete some of the challenges. I did not care what anyone said or thought. I had one goal in mind, and sometimes that goal required me to not get kills, but to instead do XYZ.
I have friends with Unicorn Chomper that I met some whilst playing, the Rank 313 players who cream everyone, every game, taking all the boasts and kills, know every camp and trick to get to every high location. Try to lookout for some and watch what they're doing if you want to be the best. Sometimes you see a level 18 with 50 kills and a streak of 40, good for him. For all you know he could be playing at level 18 for over 2 weeks, refusing to level up, and purely focusing on coins. It doesn't make him a better player in my opinion, but in his mind he probably thought otherwise.
You will be disappointed with the Unicorn Chomper, if like me you were expecting something that could decimate all...don't get me wrong it's potentially broken 1v1 but like with any Chomper, if someone else is shooting at you, you die just as fast as any other Chomper.
