Hi there @iluminatethesky
Thanku very much for your swift response, it is much appreciated....
we tried clearing the cache and disabling the ingame Origin overlay as you suggested but sadly it didn't work.
Any other ideas, we are at a loss with what to try next.
Thanku very much again for your time ๐You're very welcome, sorry those steps did not work for you.
Have you also tried repairing the game files in Origin?
You can also try a Clean Boot: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
Let us know if this helps.
Thanks ๐

Update:
Yep have tried repairing game a few times too... should have said that in first post.....
tried the clean boot... but still not working โน๏ธ
So we started to think its my PC which runs GW2 perfectly but maybe this game requires more than it has, tried it on another PC and it works fine... so conclusion is its my PC... which is due to get upgraded next week lol so I will just have to wait I guess... super disappointed though.
But I just want to say thanku very much for your time again and effort..... and for the help you are giving the community.
Have a great day... you have earned lots of karma today ๐ โค๏ธThank you very much, I appreciate the kind words. You're awesome! :eahigh_file:

I am having the same issue on my computer. The game displays the Easy Anticheat screen then disappears. Nothing else happens and the PvZ:Battle for Neighborville process disappears. I have tried the following:
1. running as administrator
2. Clearing the Origin Cache
3. Uninstalling and Reinstalling Origin
4. Clean Boot
5. Disabled the Origin-InGame Overlay
6. Tried disabling Firewall and Antivirus
7. Also tried on another computer and still have the same issue.
Is there a log file I can check for any errors?

@Bruiser80 Hey, can you post the specs of the other machine? Unfortunately I think your main one is below the minimum specs for the game, the CPU specifically.
I'm having same issues, tried all stuff mentioned above but nothing works, I wonder if the cpu is too old, does it need a SSE4.2 feature to run the game?

@Culverine What CPU do you have? For older CPUs a missing instructions set could be a totally plausible barrier, but I don't have specific info on this right now, sorry.
My other CPU is and Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.40Ghz. Have no issues with GW and GW2 on either system.
Hi...I have i5 7400 12gb RAM gtx1660ti and it also does not work and crashes
Looks like I will be asking for a refund also.
@EA_David my cpu is AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2 Ghz
I had the black screen the first time I played as well.
What I did was keep it up for about 5 minutes, eventually it loaded and has worked ever since. It only takes a few seconds to start now.
If an app or window in Windows doesn't answer to Window specific events; Windows will treat the app/window as "crashed" and grey it out.
And eventually ask the user what to do with this "crashed" application.
This doesn't mean that the app has crashed, it might just mean that it's very busy loading stuff and has no time to respond Windows at the moment.
So I say keep the game running, even if Windows says it's crashed - It might just be busy.Mine did not go to a black screen. I saw the splash screen, which seemed like it was loading and then disappeared. I let it sit close to an hour and still nothing.
If it is really windows closing game, you can try this https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/625017/windows-10-automatically-closing-programs-to-save-memory/

Update:
Got my PC upgrade today with new CPU... game is running great... thankfully.... that was a torturous week ๐ฎ
Anyway we have come to the conclusion (at least for me) that the issue was a dated CPU and the problem was missing SSE 4.1 instructions.... or some other instructions for the game.
Hopefully this info might help other people with the same issue...
Thanku again for your time and help to the community... youre awesome ๐Thanks for the Update, and the kind words!
Glad to hear it's working for you, hope you have fun! ๐

@asabaida is it possible to somehow donwload the SSE 4.1 instructions or do they just come with newer CPU's?
Hey @iluminatethesky I am also having problems with the black screen issue. I was wondering if it is something to do with my hardware. Could you mind and see what the problem is. I will add my dxdiag file. Thanks for helping others. It gives me hope to be able to play the game.
Specs:
Windows 10 pro x64 Build 18362
Intel Pentium Gold G5400 CPU @ 3.70GHz (4 CPUs)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
16 GB RAM
( DirectX 12)
Hope that was enough info ๐
Hey @TheRealMage04
It could have something to do with your CPU.
Here are the Specs: https://www.ea.com/games/plants-vs-zombies/plants-vs-zombies-battle-for-neighborville/buy/pc-system-requirements
Also, have you tried switching to DX11, instead of DX12?
Thanks ๐
- iluminate
No I haven't tried to switch from DX12 to DX11. How do you do that exactly.๐ณ Sorry I'm not that good in computers. Thanks for taking your time to help me
