Let me guess... Garden Ops? Garden Ops is using a host based system, meaning one player is the server and everyone connects to that player. Gardens & Graveyards, Team Vanquish, Welcome Mat, Gnome Bomb, Vanquish Confirmed... those are all server based. You shouldn't get that error message on those.

Chances are you're connecting to people in Garden Ops with crappy internet connections.
