There is no "best" pea, sunflower, or character/variant. Pick one that suits your play style, or that you enjoy playing with. Decide what role you are going to play in the match - teleport builder/destroyer, bomb chaser/support, healer/run & gun, & pick a character to suit that role. Ask yourself questions such as "Do I need to be fast & agile? Do I need to be heavily armoured? Do I need to do splash damage against groups, or do I need a more accurate & powerful attack? Do I need an automatic weapon, or single shot? Do I need to vanquish the enemy, or provide support & suppression? Assess your team. What area are they lacking in - healing, offence, defence, etc? For example, in Gardens & Graveyards, the zombies have a hard time without an engineer or two. I play Gnome Bomb a lot, & I usually play as the Agent Pea, but when we go 2-0 up, I sometimes switch to a defensive role with a chomper if needed. The way the game is going can affect your character choice.
