everyone here, I also had this facebook sync issue since I updated to the latest version from Google Play 3 weeks. I'm using Nexus 5, with Android 6.0.1. I was really disappointed at such big title game. But after I read rrobbynn's comment above, and tried on Mar. 8th, the sync succeeded. I have a feeling it's a technical upgrade causing this trouble, and for some reason, the technical team had to process user accounts day by day. So, don't give up and create a new account. Just try it every a few days.
