Chomper is pretty good right now really. I actually like the lack of swallowing from behind as it means no more accidental suicide Chomper anymore. The goop affects a large area now and keeps zombies inside of it from being able to use special abilities or sprinting and while the damage it causes after the initial hit is only 1 per tick, it lasts for a long time and keep zombies with the effect from regenerating. It's a great area denial weapon.
Being able to shoot spikeweeds further away is pretty handy too. They got rid of the instant entangle that GW2 had, but it should have never had that in the first place. I miss the animation from GW1 though. A little more control over where it lands would be nice though.
They do need to fix the burrowing as it can fail to work often. That appears to be a lag issue mostly.
The ability to spit has been weird to get used to but being able to damage people on roofs without having to use chomp cannon in place of goop is pretty handy.
They obviously want to make the Chomper more of a team player and less of a solo assassin with all these changes. Not saying it's perfect but it's not terrible.
