It increases DPS in a roundabout way, because the zombie team would spend more time being debuffed by the butter, thus taking extra damage.
So you won't get more DPS moment to moment, but in an extended engagement you'll have done more over time (as well as offering the tactical advantage of beacon uptime).
Nevermind I found it.
"Enemies detected by the ability will be highlighted yellow and take 1 extra point of damage from Kernel Corn’s Cob Busters, and 22 more direct damage from each Shuck Shot hit"
Edit: I thought it was unique to the upgrade but it's just an extra aspect of butter beacon
@mikepal19 The 25% I mentioned was not found from the wiki, I've calculated the damage that Corn does (with and without the Shogun-Guard upgrade, and with and without critical hits). It rounds to about 25%. That's where I got that figure from. It's about the same additional damage as Jinx, which is also a 25% damage increase, except that the Jinx buff does not highlight the enemy and applies to all plants.
