Same for me...got nothing from that chest. Nothing on event ended, and I got no stars for completed quests...so please as others have same issue...WAKE UP EA!

Since then we discovered that it's a display issue. The items are awarded correctly but they don't show up as new. And in the eventuality that you already have unlocked all the items and characters then you'll receive coins instead of the unlocks.
