Re: [Feedback] Support Feedback On The PvZ Series Going Forward

i decided to throw together an essay, detailing everything that could possibly return from old parts of GW2 that were just thrown out after the game's discontinuation.

Hero Showcase

We miss the character thing where you could play characters you didn’t have for a limited amount of time and there was an hourglass symbol next to them

this is what the Hero Showcase was. i think this would really incentivise new players to stay and try and get these characters for themselves, as they can test them out before unlocking them entirely. for example, imagine having a character like Arctic Trooper on the Hero Showcase. new players would be able to try him out and then be like "DANG, this guy is pretty powerful imma try and get him", so they will play to try and get him because he's a good character.

however, i think one thing that should change with the Hero Showcase is having legendary characters on there. i don't think that would be very... fun. because new players will see a character like Toxic Brainz and try and get him, but since he's legendary they may not want to grind out that character for a 2 yellow cards with ode to joy plastered on them.

it took wolfy 4 years to get iron citron in garden ps4fare 2

Removed Mystery Portal events

there are so many mystery portal events that were completely scrapped in favour of... rando's rampant rabbit 5000 (which sucks). some of which we saw once or twice, and then they NEVER showed up ever again. there could be such a vast variety of events per week, but instead we get monthly events that barely change up the game, and the odd capture the taco.

here's a list of EVERY SINGLE MYSTERY PORTAL EVENT that was removed and COULD be re-added

- Soil Survivors

- Cats vs. Dinos

- Boss Hunt: The Brothers Gnomus

- Boss Hunt: The Sasquatch

- Boss Hunt: The Yeti King

- Boss Hunt: The Spooky Squash

- Battle of Exploding Heroes

- Rando's Revenge

by that i mean NOT rando's rapid revenge, which is still in rotation and is the worst event

i'm talking about the one with NO speed boost, and the one that HAS hero variants (e.g. Camo Ranger, Frozen Citron, Z7 Imp, i could go on)

- Battle of Accuracy

- License to Vanquish

- I Believe I Can Float

- Happy New Year!

- Mission IMP-ossible

- Splish Splash

- Serve And Volley

- Lunchtime at the Lab

aka: Lunchtime in Hell

- Triple-F Frenzy

- Guerrilla Warfare

- Objective Rush

- Flower vs Power

- Flying Explosives

- No Calm Gnome Bomb

- Siege The Day

- Too Fast, Too Noxious

- New Recruits

- Past Intense

- Heavy Fire!

- Fuse It or Lose It

- Boogie Down Brawl

this list of events is from the Super Mix Mode fandom: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Super_Mix_Mode
this list does not contain events that are already in rotation from the AI rota

Community Challenges

this was a great way to get the community together. because it was a difficult task and the amount of players was, and still is, incredibly high, they were completed relatively easily. everyone got rewards if they took part and did their part of the objective, which was a great incentive to help. the rewards usually were legendary stickers, stars, coins, etc. everyone wants legendary characters lol

A more varied Rux Shop

rux happens to sell the same boring stuff every time he comes around. there's never any Hover-Goat / Torchwood outfits on stock, or any legendary character pieces. it's always:

- 1 exclusive ability

- 2 Special cosmetics (Scrumptious / Infinite hats, or Silver/Gold/Diamond/Gem versions of special hats, such as Ribbit for the Scientist.)

- 2 Classic cosmetics
this shop could be so much more varied. i still like Rux having an exclusive ability, since as of now that's the only way to get KING JOHNNY (bling maiden), and some of the other abilities (e.g. Dark Garlic Drone and Vampweed) are really good abilities.

there could be many more things to sell that you can no longer get in Rux, most specifically costumes for the two Trials of Gnomus characters, Hover-Goat and Torchwood.

you cannot get the three skins for each of the two characters without coughing up some actual irl cash, which is an EA classic. :/

Bringing back GW1 content

while this is INCREDIBLY unlikely due to the effort required to bring back stuff from GW1, it could still be a cool thing to be added.

it isn't the end of the world if stuff from GW1 doesn't make it into GW2 in a potential future update, but nevertheless, here's a big list of things that could return from GW1.

Gardens & Graveyards Maps

- Driftwood Shores

- Cactus Canyon

- Main Street

General Maps

pretty much every other map from GW1 that could be in relatively every gamemode including Capture the Taco, Garden and Graveyard Ops.

- Suburban Flats

- Chomp Town

- Garden Center

though we did get Aqua Center in GW2, which is just a modified version of Garden Center, i don't know if they'd be willing to add this

- Port Scallywag

- Sharkbite Shores

- Zomboss Estate

- Jewel Junction (+ night ver.)

- Crash Course (+ night ver.)

Miscellaneous

- Endless mode for Garden/Graveyard Ops

- Boss Mode

- Classic Team Vanquish

- Classic Gardens & Graveyards

if this was added, we could also get a Classic Herbal Assault

- The Really Cool Cutscenes When Super Boss Waves Occurred In Garden Ops

- Classic customisations, but make them actual stickers you can randomly get instead of calling them "Classic" and making them exclusive to the Red Mystery Portal chest

so yeah, that's what i got.

it would be really cool to see these things implemented back into GW2, even if it means the game is discontinued again right after.

Breaking news: PvZ Heroes just got a balance patch after multiple years of absolutely nothing! Unfortunately, a lot of the changes make no sense!

@Gunderfun Yeah. They buffed some of the strongest cards in the game, nerfed some bad cards, and even replaced cool cards for no reason (why???)

@Gunderfun @Jakepenng99 This happens days after the non hd mobile port for pvz1 has the lawnmower change, taking away 3 lawnmowers on pool/fog levels and 2 on everything else. (Excluding last stand that didn’t have lawnmowers to begin with.)

What is EA pulling off right now? I hope they don’t touch anything else and revert the changes.

@SSlipperyit is crazy how they made all of those gamemodes for the majority of them to only be around for a few rotations.

i'm pretty sure we got License to Vanquish (agent pea vs camo ranger) ONCE. and then we moved onto the next super mix mode.

not only that, but it's just the fact that some of these really loved events, like Soil Survivors, Boss Hunt, Battle of Exploding Heroes, were fan favourites. unfortunately we were left in the dust with just some speed boost events + capture the taco and legends of the brawl.

it has been widely expressed that speed boost is the WORST crazy setting. popcap listens to the audience's feedback and were aware of this at the time, and they decided to include speed boost in 99% of the events per year.

it's sad to see this happen considering how many actually good "super mix mode" events there were, i.e. Legends of the Brawl.

i'm pretty sure i say that on behalf of everyone

So, looking at the “quality” of these recent updates, I decided to go back and and make a video asking if returned GW2 is really worth it anymore. For all we know, the execution could be just as botched as the heroes one, despite the good intentions. I know we all would LOVE to see our favourite franchise revived, but as they say: “Be careful what you wish for.”

@Gunderfun That's exactly what I was thinking, they are making changes to old games that only make the game worse.
Even one of the last things they made in GW2 was of dubious quality(wallnut hills)

i'm actually concerned about this, like what if in a balance patch we've been hyped over, they come to us and say "Oh, Toxic Overload is getting buffed

and also we're making blazin blast deal 25 damage per tick instead of 15 get rekt"
