One thing I noticed about the new flame chomper is that his flame breath is not as effective against spawned zombies (like the casket zombie). In GW1 he could clear them out easily, but now it seems to take longer.

The problem is Chompers no longer do direct damage to box and shield zombies. Their attacks hit the armor and not the zombie this time around, forcing them to burrow or chomp the armor, which is time consuming, yields no coins and leaves them vulnerable. Chomper weeds can stun the zombie and do direct damage, but it doesn't remove the armor and shield like it did in GW1.

If you manage to die to him as a all-star outside of being shallowed (which pretty much for every chomper), It pretty much come from either good play from the chomper or horrible play from you.
Also goop cannon is bad because you're pretty much giving up chomper best skill: Goop.
@Boolerex hey i wouldnt mind it if it was the same player doing it over and over again i'll admit they have a good skill playing that variant. but out of all the variants the fire chomper is mostly used and they dont even bother trying to chomp you.
ive not even come across a chomp thing, toxic or electric chomper yet ive seen more disco chompers than a standard chomper.
Something that is popular didn't always mean that he's OP.
Should be noted that for some reason,fire character in general are popular regardless of if they're actually good or not. Captain flameface is like worst variant of deadboard and yet he's still a fairly common sight.
