On Xbox One without an Xbox Live gold account, the only game mode available is Splitscreen. 

EA Access has a monthly fee as it allows players to play multiple titles for free along with other perks. Garden Warfare itself does require an Xbox Live gold account as it is an online shooter. There is no single player/offline mode, players will always be using the Xbox Live services while playing this game. The game by itself is about 20 I believe.
